The Berenstain Bears' Moving Day |
Stan and Jan Berenstain were both born in 1923 in Philadelphia. They didn't know each other as children, but met later at school, at the Philadelphia College of Art. They liked each other right away, and found out that the both enjoyed the same kinds of books, plays, music and art. During World War II, Stan was a medical assistant in the Army, and Jan worked in an airplane factory. When the war was over, they got married and began to work together as artists and writers, primarily drawing cartoons for popular magazines. After having their two sons Leo and Michael, the Berenstains decided to write some funny children's books that their children and other children could read and enjoy. Their first published children's book was called The Big Honey Hunt . It was about a family of bears, who later became known as the "Berenstain Bears".
Over 50 children's books later, Stan and Jan still plan all of their books together -- both write the stories, and both write the pictures. They live outside of Philadelphia in the country.

这套书儿子一直都很喜欢。所以一次买了8本。总体感觉还不错,遗憾之处是这套书的字体有些小,如果再大一些就更好了。
不错,画面清晰质量好,孩子喜欢,自己慢慢研究,希望英语能进步。
Berenstain Bears have always been a childhood favorite of mine, and has become a favorite of my two kiddos as well. We were preparing to move to a knew city and I noticed that my little ones were pretty hesitant about moving to a new place. The thing that's great about the Berenstain Bears books are that they address real life situations and help children and parents work through them together. I knew I needed to search for a Berenstain Bears book about moving to ease their anxiety, and I found just the book! With Amazon's great prices and two-day shipping I got this book quickly and read it to my kids quite a few times. It definitely eased their worries and they began to get excited about our new moving adventure!
We are getting ready to move to a new house, and my 3 year old has not been handling it well. This book helped my son understand that moving is not so bad, and that all of his belongings and family will come with him. I highly suggest preparing young children prior to a move, as a big change is very stressful on little ones. The story is not as long as some of the other Bernstein Bears books, and is perfect for engaging my 3 year old.
Cute book. I bought this book to help my three-year-old better understand our upcoming move. While the book does a good job explaining what "moving" is, I wish it would've done a better job addressing some of the feelings of fear, uncertainty, etc. that go along with it. The book does briefly touch on it, but not enough in my opinion. I probably wouldn't have purchased it had I had a chance to flip through this book in a store before purchasing. It's still cute, though, and you have to love the Berenstain Bears.
Yet another classic Berenstain Bears story. We have about 20 of these classic books and my kids love them. In our family, our son is two years older than our daughter so it really helps them connect to the stories because they often put themselves in the positions of the characters. We are moving soon so I ordered this book.
Even though it came out in 1981 (after Sister Bear was introduced), it is a flashback story of the time when the only child Brother Bear (along with his parents -- obviously) move from their cave to the tree house that is the common back drop for most of their stories. I have yet to encounter one of the classic books by Stan and Jan Berenstain that I don't like (plus, my kids love them which is wonderful too). The only negative that we experienced with this book is that my daughter had a tough time because Sister Bear wasn't in it. She still liked the story and we talked about how we are going to pack up their toys and games and still be able to enjoy them at our new house. Plus, we talked about how we will be meeting new friends in our new neighborhood, and won't be able to see our current friends and neighbors as often.
This book was so helpful for my 3-year-old and even my almost-6-year-old to get ready to move. It simply explains the process in a fun way and makes moving day so much easier for little ones. It also answers many questions young children are worried about that we adults don't always think to explain. For example, what happens to my toys, books, friends, etc. Highly recommended.
