If buying your first little bear book my kids like the first book just titled little bear best. These other ones are fine but the first little bear really got my child interested in reading and she would memorize the words and read it outloud. Huge help to her.
Little Bear is one of the best series out there and the message and illustrations in the book is second to none. Children of any age love these stories and they have some of the most beautiful messages out there for kids concerning friendship and love for their peers. My kids never get tired of these stories and as a parent I do not get tired of reading them night after night.
I just don't like this story as much as the other Little Bear books. Plus, if you have Little Bear, Father Bear Comes Home and Little Bear's Visit, those have maybe 4 little short stories - perfect for reading one before bedtime. This book is all one story. I didn't like that.
these are the books my daughters charter school uses. In under a month she was reading at over 38 words per minute before going into 1st grade.
My toddler is hooked on these books. The characters are great, because they also teach the names of animals. Simple and well structured sentences make it easy for her to follow the story.
