This story isn't just about lawn gnomes terrorizing the main character and who he comes in contact with! As the story progresses and pieces fall into place... the aha moment is terrific. R. L. Stine is back and his writing is as good as ever. The story follows a young boy whose family is forced to move due to bad behavior on his part (don't want to give away why) and there new town has a horrible secret. I remember reading Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes when I was a lot younger so I naturally was curious with this one. Let me just say that you will not guess the ending. Good twists and turns. Fans of Goosebumps will want this in their collection!

Planet of the Lawn Gnomes is an interesting read with many twists and turns I didn't see coming. It takes a long time for the story to get going but once it does, the wait is worth it. It's humorous and slightly scary, but never too much. At times some of the protagonist's actions may seem far fetched but hang on because they will all make sense in the end. I would recommend this book to children and anyone interested in a creative tale about gnomes. You may however, find the narration slightly cliched if you're used to more adult fiction.

My son just recently discovered the goosebumps books, he was into mythology before these, but he knew of them. He has watched the movies and the shows, but one day he picked up the book and started and now he owns almost all of them. These are good books for kids to read. It keeps their attention and gives them a little thrill!!

Okay. I was slow to appreciate these goofy horror books. And I still don't really, not much for myself. But the kids LOVE them. How can I argue with that? I keep a small collection on hand for the kids who just have to read something scary.

My daughter loves RL Stine, and we have been pranking my dad with garden gnomes. We have about ten of them that we move around on my parents' property. So my kiddo really wanted this book. She liked it a lot and has read it several times over.
