We loved this book! Mercy is a funny character. She loves toast with a great deal of butter on it. This is funny because she is a pig and toast is the only thing she thinks about. In another part, Eugenia, their neighbor, was chasing Mercy away from their house, but Mercy thought they were playing tag. Mercy was being playful and Eugenia was mad. Hilarious! If you are in elementary school and like funny books, then you should read Mercy Watson to the Rescue!
My 6 year old is a very reluctant reader. This has thrown me for a loop, because I have always been an avid reader and made the mistake of assuming all my children would be too. I've been searching for a book that could spark a love of reading in her. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but she was hooked after looking through the pictures and promptly picked up the book and started reading out loud to me. We're both thrilled. Love the illustrations and the fun and silly Mercy Watson.
My daughter is in Kinder and was assigned to read an hour every day this was included in a promo code that their school program offered which was very helpful for us. She loves this book
Definitely recommend this book for children, was a little long wished it had more illustrations but overall the book was very good. From my 8 yr old's perspective this book was very entertaining!
Love the illustrations! The story is wonderful! It's silly and fun and full of action. A great early chapter book. My 5 year old really enjoys it. He isn't reading it all himself, but the story is something he understands and remembers with joy. He can repeat the story back to me with ease and animation.
