猫头鹰在线写作实验室回应网友的范文要求，针对2013年4月6日雅思大作文考题：
“百年前人类相信我们可以在生活各方面创造不断的进步。时至今日，有人开始怀疑。到底人类在那些方面进步了?到底在其他那些方面疏忽了?”
谢振礼老师点评：有部分考生答题时觉得话太多而一言难尽，也有部分考生认为题目太大，不知从何处着手。反正船到桥头自然直，总不会有人选择交白卷吧?
你怎么答题都无所谓，但是不要跑题。预备在40分钟内完成一篇250字(+)的论说文，首先必须缩小话题的范围。如果不是这样做，肯定写不完，而却越写越跑题。至于如何缩小话题的范围，那是因人而异，根本没有标准答案。
结构--起承转合：
起 经济(交通+工业)进步=空气污染+净水污染
承 空气污染是交通进步的代价，造成地球升温
转 净水污染是工业进步的代价，造成水源缺乏
合 空气污染+净水污染=经济进步
百年来在地球上的人类创造多方面的进步，说也说不完，然而经济进步却留下后遗症，产生祸害难题，尚待解决。

Writing Topic:
100 years ago, the human race believed that we would make continued progress in all areas of life. Today some people feel less certain about this. What areas of progress the human race has made? What else areas we haven't developed?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.
Sample Essay:
Progress is the attraction that moves humanity, and if progress means change, then it is not always in the right direction. A century ago the human race was sure of being on the right road toward continued progress in all areas of life, not knowing progress is often man's ability to abuse the our world's natural resources. In our seeking for economicprogress, we all go up; or else we all go down with the problems related particularly to burning fossil oil and polluting fresh water .
To begin with, the past 10 decades saw remarkable progress in transportation powered by petroleum, but the undesirable result is air pollution along with greenhouse effects, causing climate to change. Ignoring the global warming will affect humanity negatively because this threat is on a planetary scale regardless of where the causes originate. Of course, we could continue to make progress in this area of life, but humanity could equally go the other way. So, if climate change is not managed in a coordinated way, it would unravel human progress now and in the days to come. Since the human race has one planet to share, it behooves us to develop sustaining human progress in a changing climate. Unfortunately, unless enough is done in time, the bad consequences about climate change will probably last beyond the next century.
The human race is also paying a huge price for economic progress: water being polluted. Scientists have warned against regional clean water shortages across the world as soon as this century due mainly to human neglect of environmental protection. Some experts even think that the dwindling clean water supply is likely to become more threatening than the oil crisis. It is understandable that our preference for consumerism in tune with progress has made life much more comfortable and enjoyable than 100 years ago. Without any doubt, the modern "throw-away" society is both the cause and the effect of continued progress in industrialization and technology. For that matter, we are not certain what could be effectively done to reverse the trend.
To sum up, in our constant pursuit of progress, air pollution from oil consumption and water pollution from over-consumerism may join forces to change our lives negatively now and in the future. The issue is therefor about progress at the expense of limited natural resources. Sometimes we cannot help thinking that the chief obstacle to the progress of the human race is the human race.

猫头鹰认为小作文如果写4段，段落之间空白一行，顶多有效使用27行，其实正常情况之下，只要写满24行，空白三行，全部连空白共27行，垫底不用有3行，估计Task 1 应该有180-200字。

猫头鹰估计起承转合。起用5行，承用10行，转用10行，合用5行，段落之间空白一行，全部使用(连空白三行)，总共33行。垫底预备7行不用。如果有效写满30行，字数应该有300字，绝对超过250字。建议起三句话，承六句话，转六句话，合三句话。
