Moonlighting 兼差

2007-01-30

Larry: Hi, Neil. What're you up to? Burning the midnight oil again?

Neil: Yeah.

Larry: You look a little under the weather. Are you feeling well?

Nell: I'm fine. Thank you.

Larry: You can't keep burning the candle at both ends, Neil. Stop moonlighting.

Nell: I can't, Larry. I need both jobs. I need the money.

Larry: Find another job that is well-paid then.

Nell: I'll think about it, Larry.

Larry: Ease up a bit, Neil. If you get ill, you'll lose both jobs.

Neil: I'm sound in wind and limb. Don't worry.

Larry: I'm saying this for your own good. If you weren't my friend, I wouldn't give a damn about it.

Neil: I know, Larry. You've always been my best friend. I know what to do.

Larry: All right. Go your own way then. Don't say that I didn't warn you if you go down with overwork.

Neil: Larry, I ....

Larry: I'm going to make some coffee. Would you like to have a cup of coffee with me?

Nell: Sure. Anytime.
