这本书的主人公是一名叫August（小名Augiee）的小男孩。这孩子生下来，“奇丑”，丑到让人见他就要倒吸一口凉气的程度。可是他却有一颗无比善良的心，他很幽默，也很聪明。孩子还小的时候，家里不敢把他送到学校去，怕他受欺负。转眼他已经10岁啦，爸爸妈妈在无奈、担心中还是把他送到了Beecher小学，不知是福是祸。
Augiee知道自己与别的孩子不同，生来相貌丑陋，宁愿顶着他太阳也要带着头盔，不想要让别人看到他。他低着头，用头帘尽可能地遮住脸。幸运女神并没有垂青他，他一进学校门就经受来自同学、家长的白眼和小声议论。但每每当他灰心丧气的时候，生活又会给了他转机，给他坚持往下走的勇气。
虽然主人公只是一个10岁的小毛孩，却可以给它的读者带来震撼、感动和思考。

The book is pretty much easy to read and the story touching.
I personally enjoy the plain English used by the author who is able to make me both happy and
sad by very simple words.
Can't say it is the best novel I have ever read but it is no doubt one of my recommendations.
If you are wondering the content, then you are really supposed to spend some time reading this "wonder" !

打消了我对外文书曾经以为的晦涩难懂的刻板印象，并使我和妹妹都更加有信心多读外文原版书。

不愧为2013最畅销小说，儿子第一本完整读完的＂厚＂书。孩子认为许多内容对自己深有启发。

某日趁着感冒，翻完了WONDER (by R.J.Palacio)。因此感冒不再那么难受，我想那算得上的一场愉快而有趣的生病经历吧。

一开始我还在怀疑或是担心，如果我是他，或是Via，或是Isabel，或是Nate，我会怎样选择或是面对。

也许又要谢谢这次突如其来的感冒，让我没有过剩的精力去多想，更多地只是任着作者牵着我到处走，完全沉浸在有Auggie的世界。

What is August like?
His eyes are about an inch below where they should be on his face, almost to halfway down his cheeks.
The top eyelids are always halfway closed, like he's on the verge of sleeping.
He doesn't have eyebrows or eyelashes.
His nose is disproportionately big for his face, and kind of fleshy.

书的印刷不错，其中的英语比较初级。书的内容质量和价格有些不符，有点偏贵。

this book is awesome! everyone should read it, it tells you about a boy named August . his face is deformed due to some birth defects. he faces some bullies in scho but he also made some new friends. everyone should read this book!!!!!

阅读过程中有笑有哭有很多感动
小说的用词都不难 非常适合英语基础不是特别好的人阅读 也适合英文好的人来完全享受这这个故事
关于书本的质量：原本以为这个是书有质量问题，各种雪花，好像印刷不给力，其实并不是。这是这本书的风格，故意做的旧的。
