Thinking in HTML |
You will gain an intermediate knowledge of HTML after reading this book. Instead of wandering through loads of theory, we will understand HTML practically so that we can semantically define the markup and structure of a webpage. We have used Notepad for the examples in this book. Alternatively, you can also use Notepad++ or any advanced editor. All you need to do is copy the code and paste it into Notepad. Upon execution, you will get the output as depicted in the screenshots. Screenshots are provided for each sample code.
Coding improves with practice. The examples in this book are compatible with almost every modern browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome to name a few. Instead of using the verbatim code, you can modify the code and see the change in the output, thereby understanding the subtle nuances of HTML. By the end of the book, with practice, you can achieve better things as you get to grips with HTML.

简明扼要的介绍了HTML和HTML5的一些基本元素和属性。
This is a good book. I'm learning a lot. And the price is right (as in, free). Only one problem: Author Shenoy works for an eBook publishing firm called Packt. Seeminly every code example in the book has some reference to Packt or its other products. Sometimes it's hard to tell when the commercial ends and the book's teaching begins.
I find this behavior more than a little disconcerting, and bordering on unprofessional. I have no problem with any kind of promotional stuff in the Preface or Introduction, but once he gets into the actual body of the book, I'd prefer that he focus on teaching _ME_, not promoting PackT.
That said, I am getting something out of the course, and can (but would rather not) replace the commercial bits with something I prefer.
Good intro for rank newbies like me. If you appreciate the cost and you'll appreciate the content. This by no means a full discourse nor does it portray itself as one. This is a quick treatment on HTML that hopefully whets your appetite for a deeper dive.
Only con is the slightly misleading title. Other than that, if you want to learn HTML, you could certainly do worse for a starting course..
Everyone should be familiar with html and how it works. This book will enlighten you or refresh your memory. "Thinking in HTML" will be a good reference book that you can turn to for answers to questions you might have. Recommended!
Having studied HTML through various sources already, this short book provided a nice refresher on the basic HTML elements and highlighted a few features for HTML5.
Good read for those new to HTML.
