Jonathan Livingston Seagull is a bird who teaches us how to follow our dreams and reach our goals, no matter what anyone else might think. Jonathan is a seagull who wants to master the art of flying, even though his flock has told him many times that all seagulls should concentrate on is getting food. Jonathan has tried to be a "good gull," but he cannot quell his urge to fly. Richard Bach reads this fable in a calm voice that sounds like a blowing wind. When there's fighting among the gulls, the tone of his voice reflects that anger. Jonathan's tale moves us as much as Richard Bach's voice does.
